Terrorizer recently had a doom metal special where they listed the ten most important doom albums ever and Death Penalty was listed as number one! Congrats to the guys if only 24 years too late! Quietus(copy was sent yesterday)
Friends Of Hell should have been there too!
Oh well, just as long as at least ONE of them was on there...
...especially since it was number
one. Pretty damn sweet
Hi there!
Just joined this forum...bit sorry that it took so long as I´ve been aware of the band since 1983, which means Friends of hell...and aware of this great site for some time now! Thanx to my mother who didn´t buy me FOH album, ´cos that made me even more interested to get it!

HI, I JUST GOT ALL THE WITCHFINDER CD'S AVAILIBLE DOMESTICALLY. I LOVE THEM. GOT THE TERROIZER MAGAZINE , I SLIGHTLY AGREE WITH BUT FOR ONE THING- WHERE IS PAGAN ALTAR ?
I agree man,Pagan Altar are one of my top favorite Metal Bands of all-time.They have the underground following like Witchfinder General.I believe the reason they were not included in Terrorizer magazine was because Pagan Altar was ignored from the late seventies through to the mid-nineties and they only had a demo tape circulating in the 80's.They had written alot of material in the late seventies and early eighties but no record company would touch them.
I know Pagan Altar recorded a 7" single around 1980.It was to be recorded at Abbey Studios but prior to the release in 1980 , John Lennon was assassinated and Abbey Studios then wanted to concentrate on releasing the Beatles back catalogue so Pagan Altar had to find another studio that went bankrupt prior to releasing it.I know of one copyof the 7" in existence and it's not in my collection although I offered the band my car for it.You can read the story on this 7" single at the Pagan Altar website as well as a detailed History on this great band.
Now back to Witchfinder General
I just downloaded a few songs of theirs (from the main site and their myspace page), im very impressed!
