Hey folks,

there has been a thread about the upcoming Witchfinder General record, but it vanished for some reason. Well, let's open a new one. Feel free to discuss anything that comes to your mind when thinking about "Resurrected". Maybe Phil or someone else will make somethin' public concerning the release date or cover artwork.

This week Buried By Time and Dust records received the master recordings to Witchfinder General's Resurrected lp! This, the Stourbridge Doom legends first recording in over 25 years features the original lineup from the "Live 83" lp of Phil Cope,Rod Hawkes and Derm Redmond and adds new vocalist Gary Martin in place of original vocalist Zeeb Parkes.

I am pleased to say there has been little in the area of growth or progression, just ultra heavy doom metal of the highest order in the grand tradition of Black Sabbath and well...Witchfinder General!

The Living Hell starts the record of with one of the most morbid, slow behemoths of a doom riff I have ever heard,then switches gear into a mid paced crusher that just makes me want to snap my neck.

Next track is Gift of Life which is proof that Phil Cope is incapable of writing a riff that isn't perfect, this one has a whole shitload of them and maybe my favorite solo from him ever.

Final Justice picks up from the first track with more ultra doom riffing and a machine gun vocal outburst from Gary Martin and at this point we were just grinning .

Brin-Y-Mor is a morose acoustic peice that gives you a quick chance to put your brains back in your skull and pop your nose back into place.

Brutal Existence is a mid pacedtune that chugs away witha riff that I just can't get out of my head and of course more classic lead work.

Euthanasia is probably the most heartfelt track, presented in only the heaviest of formats, you have to hear this one.....fucking killer.

A night to remember is a straight ahead rock number similar to "No Stayer" in my opinion and if there were any justice in the world this would assassinate and bury the what passes for commercial rock music......uggghh.

Closing the lp is The Funeral/Beyond The Grave- This scared the shit out of me, ultra ultra slow doom riffs from one of the genre's true architects...Mr. Phil Cope.

I will keep everyone updated when the release date is closer but suffice it to say this is a dream come true for us not so much that we have waited 25 years, but the material simply rules. No drone,No indie,No desert/stoner whatever...Just the heaviest doom metal for which I bow to the band.

Knowing how much evil soul this band posseses makes the anticipation of this historic release almost unbearable! This is certainly a special moment in my long and amazing journey in search of GREAT music. Thank you guys for all the joy......AND SORROW!!

When is the US tour again..??

Do we have to wait less than a month or a little bit longer? Second question is...can you reveal the coverartwork please?

We worked on the layout today and is almost done and looking great. Hoping to have it completed this week and Russ will get it off to press. It is looking great and can't wait for the world to hear this.

The cd version will come first and their will be a die hard version that comes with a shirt designed especially for this release.

Regular posters at this forum will get first chance wit the die hards.

Too bad about the original thread being lost, but it warrants repeating. This is one of the most exciting things to happen. I can't wait to hear this new album. I'm so stoked for the Generals. We're all waiting with bated breath.
