On 26th March 1983 the lads arrived in Coventry at Horizon studios for fourteen days to record 'Friends of Hell'.

Sadly Horizon studios was demolished in the mid 90's, giving way to a car park. sad.gif
But at least the pub opposite - 'The Rocket', which the band frequently visited for a swift jug of ale or more whilst taking a break from recording, still remains. biggrin.gif

Thanks Dreadnought Kid,

To this day, twenty three years later and thousands of albums purchased since then Friends of Hell is my favorite record of all time. Thanks to you and the guys, I care about the record more than I can say. Looking forward to buying you a beer soon!

Friends Of Hell didn't make it out of my player until the tape just gave the fuck out sometime in the mid-90's. Luckily, a friend of mine happened to find a vinyl copy in Texas somewhere and I had it back. I've always been curious...were there any outtakes and/or songs that survived that didn't make it onto the final album?

Also, what have you lads been doing with your time between 1984 and...well....now?

Well, it's great to see that the Live '83 CD has made an impact on folk. I know for a fact that Phil was sceptical to say the least about the amount of interest out there and since the release (Cheers Russ and Yosuke!!), he has been overwhelmed with the e-mails and contact from fans from far and wide cool.gif cool.gif (keep 'em coming!)

However, to answer your question, Knock, the lads have all been working their day jobs since the band split up and all are doing fine. tongue.gif

Since the split until about September of '04 when work started on the live album, everybody thought WFG had gone to ground forever. But....I'm working very hard, along with others on trying to raise the profile of this band and am happy to say that Phil and some other members of the band are meeting up on a regular basis AND talking music again....so who knows wink.gif wink.gif Even today Phil and Derm have been up the pub like a pair of 20 year olds!! and later this year Phil is hoping to make a trip to the USA unsure.gif . So......

just watch this space and keep the faith!!!!

Eh, that sucks. Isn't that fun? A local swimming pool that I used to be on the swim team with for five years just got emptied, paved over, and made into a park (plus one of the pizza places we'd go to after home swim meet victories for food, drink and video games was turned into a jiffy lube-type place as well). Turns out they didn't have much choice, the pool was kind of oddly shaped to miss a power line going down the pool one way, a sewer line going the other, etc. Heh...
