Whomever,
i just feel obliged to say that when i was 12-13 years old, growing up in connecticut, USA, Witchfinder General were probably my favorite band (with Venom and Motorhead, of course).
i'm 35 now and i still think about hearing "death penalty" and "friends of hell" on WNHU's metal show in the early/mid 80's. yeah, i'd heard sabbath, but WG didn't strike me as clones. they took a different direction. sabbath may've been the springboard, but WG seemed more gothic/hammerish.
i must hear "love on smack" every couple months or it haunts me. that was my fave in the day.
i have one friend from that time that i am still aquainted with, and we look back at WG as something that 99.9% of even our peers missed out on. we consider ourselves lucky to have been exposed to such a fuckin phenomenal band.
i met a girl in las vegas a few years ago who was a fan and i flipped. other than that, it's just been me and my buddy al (still back in CT). every once in a while some posuer will tell me the name sounds familiar. buy another trouble album, geek!
if zeeb and the gang read this, just know that your band meant something to some gas-huffing, grass smoking, acid head heavy metal kids in CT back in the 80's. sadly, a few of us didn't heed the "smack's a bummer" warning. kinda derailed things for a while.
sincerely,

Then ya should have played their music to people so they would've become fans too, and not "miss out" on them!
